1. Introduction
Welcome to PicGo! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PicGo application (the “App”) and the PicGo Cloud Services (the “Service”), specifically the Configuration Synchronization service.
By downloading, accessing, or using PicGo, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our App or Service.
2. Description of Services
PicGo provides two distinct types of services:
- The PicGo App (Client Tool): A productivity tool that allows you to upload images to third-party image hosting providers (e.g., AWS S3, GitHub, Aliyun OSS, etc.) configured by you. In this scenario, PicGo acts solely as a transmission tool.
- PicGo Cloud Services: Currently, this includes:
- Configuration Synchronization: A service to sync your App settings and configurations across multiple devices.
3. Use of Services & User Responsibility
You agree to use PicGo only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
- Lawful Use: You represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of PicGo complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- Prohibited Conduct: You agree not to use PicGo to upload, post, or transmit any content that:
- Is illegal, infringing, or fraudulent.
- Contains viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
- Interferes with or disrupts the integrity or performance of the Service.
3.1 Unauthorized Access & API Abuse
The PicGo Configuration Synchronization Service is intended solely for use by the official PicGo application.
- Exclusive Use: You agree NOT to access, or attempt to access, the Service by any means other than through the interface provided by the official PicGo App.
- Prohibitions: You are strictly prohibited from:
- Reverse engineering the synchronization API for use in third-party applications, scripts, or bots.
- Sharing your API tokens with unauthorized third-party services.
- Abusing the API with excessive requests that degrade service performance for others.
- Consequences: PicGo reserves the right to permanently terminate accounts found to be accessing the Service via unauthorized means or violating this policy, without prior notice.
4. User Content and Data
4.1 Ownership
You retain full ownership and copyright of all content and configuration data you upload or sync via PicGo. PicGo claims no ownership rights over your data.
4.2 Third-Party Hosting (via PicGo App)
When you use the PicGo App to upload images to your own third-party storage providers, PicGo acts strictly as a client interface.
- Scope of Operation: PicGo is designed to perform file-level operations (e.g., uploading files, retrieving URLs) based on your commands. PicGo does not perform administrative operations such as deleting repositories, buckets, or storage instances.
- Data Relationship: We do not access, view, store, or process your images on our servers. Your relationship regarding data storage is strictly between you and your chosen third-party provider.
4.3 PicGo Configuration Sync Service
If you use the Configuration Synchronization service:
- Encryption Modes: PicGo provides two modes for data security:
- Standard Encryption: Data is encrypted both in transit (via SSL/TLS) and at rest (via AES-256) on our servers. PicGo manages the encryption keys to allow for password recovery and seamless syncing, but your data is never stored as plain text.
- End-to-End Encryption (E2EE): You may choose to encrypt your configuration data using a personal PIN known only to you.
- Important Warning regarding E2EE:
- If you enable E2EE, your data is encrypted with your PIN before it leaves your device. PicGo servers never see or store your PIN.
- User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for remembering and safeguarding your PIN.
- No Recovery: If you forget or lose your PIN, PicGo CANNOT recover your data. It will be permanently inaccessible. PicGo assumes no liability for data loss resulting from a lost or forgotten PIN.
- Limited License: You grant PicGo a limited license to encrypt, store, and transmit your configuration settings solely for the purpose of syncing them to your authorized devices.
5. Third-Party Plugins and Extensions
The PicGo App supports an ecosystem of plugins developed by the open-source community (“Third-Party Plugins”).
- No Affiliation: Unless explicitly marked as “Official,” these plugins are created and maintained by independent third-party developers, not by PicGo.
- Use at Your Own Risk: PicGo does not review, monitor, or endorse Third-Party Plugins. Installing and using these plugins is entirely at your own risk.
- No Liability: You acknowledge that Third-Party Plugins may have access to your data, API keys, or system resources. PicGo is not responsible for any data loss, security breaches, system instability, or other issues caused by the installation or use of Third-Party Plugins.
6. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and disclose information.
7. Payment and Tiers
- Free Tier: The basic Configuration Synchronization service is currently provided free of charge. This includes access to a limited history of configuration versions (e.g., up to 3 versions).
- Future Premium Tiers: PicGo reserves the right to introduce paid subscription tiers (“Premium”) in the future that offer enhanced features, such as extended version history (e.g., 10+ versions) or higher storage limits.
- Commitment: We are committed to keeping the core functionality of configuration synchronization available to free users, though specific limits (such as storage size or history depth) may apply.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PicGo is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
PicGo shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
- Data Loss due to E2EE: Any loss of data or inability to access data resulting from your failure to remember or secure your PIN in End-to-End Encryption mode.
- Third-Party Infrastructure: PicGo is not responsible for the deletion, suspension, or loss of your third-party storage accounts (e.g., AWS S3 buckets, GitHub repositories) caused by your configuration errors, misuse of keys, or third-party service failures.
- Third-Party Plugins: Any malfunction, data loss, or security breach caused by plugins, extensions, or scripts developed by third parties.
9. Changes to Terms
PicGo reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page or through the App. Your continued use of PicGo after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
